The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established with the inception of the institution in 2001 with an intake of 120 students.

The following Programme Educational Objectives are designed based on the department Mission.

PE01 Technical Expertise and Innovation: Graduates will possess a solid foundation in computer science and engineering principles, allowing them to design, develop, and implement innovative solutions to complex technical problems. They will be adept at using contemporary tools and technologies to advance the field.

PE02 Professional Growth and Leadership: Graduates will advance in their careers and take on leadership roles in the technology sector. They will pursue continuous professional development, including advanced certifications and higher education, to stay updated with emerging trends and technologies.

PE03 Ethical and Responsible Practice: Graduates will demonstrate high ethical standards and responsibility in their professional activities. They will apply their knowledge in a manner that respects privacy, upholds integrity, and contributes positively to society and the technology profession.

POs

PO1 Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals to find the solution for complex Mechanical engineering problems.

PO2 Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex mechanical engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering Sciences.

PO3 Design and development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems or system components or processes related to Mechanical Engineering that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4 Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments in Mechanical Engineering, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5 Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and Information Technology tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering problems in Mechanical Engineering with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6 The engineer and society: Apply contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice.

PO7 Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of professional Production and Industrial Engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate knowledge of and need for sustainable development.

PO8 Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO9 Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse teams as well as in multidisciplinary settings.

PO10 Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

PO11 Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

PO12 Lifelong learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

PSO's

PSO1 Graduates will have rigid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals and will be technically strong to solve engineering problems in the real world.

PSO2 Graduates will indulge in demonstrating the professional skills necessary to compete in the industry, so as to succeed in the career as well as in the research.

PSO3 Graduates will shine in various fields of computer science and will become productive citizens with high ethical and professional standards, effective communication skills, teamwork skills and ability to relate engineering issues to broader social context.
