Communication System

Communication Systems have made people to stay connected regardless of their physical location. Thus the scope of this field encompasses the design and development of various communication systems, such as wireless networks, high speed data transmission and internet technologies.

The Post Graduate course (M.E.-COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS) was started in the year of 2012 idea of equipping young people with the necessary technical knowledge and professional skills needed to address the challenges in the rapidly growing field Communication Engineering and promoting research in this area. In the current scenario, modern applications like the Smart phones , Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics, and Embedded Systems are highly dependent on the knowledge of Communication. Thus our department offers courses like Optical communication , satellite communication, wireless networks, internetworking, MIMO communication, Data communication and so on, to give an in depth knowledge of communication technologies.

Vision

The department strives to impart high quality education that will produce highly competent, passionate and confident engineers who can meet the challenges of ever-changing Industrial requirements, research and global socio-economic needs.

Mission

    M1 To produce technocrats with competence in the practical art of engineering in their area of specialization.

      M2 To train them to use modern software design tools that will provide an in-depth understanding of the practical methods for the design, simulation, fabrication and testing of complex systems and their maintenance in the severest environment.

        M3 To have a strong foundation in theoretical concepts, complemented with practical training and to inculcate innovative skills, research aptitude, team-work, ethical practices in students so as to meet the expectations of industry as well as society.

The following Programme Educational Objectives are designed based on the department Mission

PE01 Execute technical expertise to succeed as a communication engineer in industry, government and academia.

PE02 Applyscientific research in communication and related fields using an interdisciplinary approach

PE03 Apply a variety of technology systems to address a range of challenging engineering issues.

PE04 Develop the value of leadership, cooperation, clear communication and lifelong learning for the benefit of their organization and country.

PE05 Promote moral principles and show case dedication to work in order to facilitate and empower rural communication infrastructure.

POs

PO1 An ability to independently carry out research/investigation and development work to solve practical problems.

PO2 An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document.

PO3 Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program.

PO4 Design and analyze RF, Signal processing, Networking, Adaptive and modern communication systems.

PO5 Develop the knowledge in 5G communication techniques, mm wave communication, smart antennas, Massive MIMO and Wireless sensor networks.

PO6 Apply various software tools and cutting-edge engineering hardware to provide solutions for complex communication engineering problems.

PSO's

PSO1 Apply technical knowledge of signal processing, communications, networks as communication engineers.

PSO2 An ability to solve complex problems in real world communication sectorsand develop feasible and viable communication systems

PSO3 Inculcate effective communication engineering skills and contribute good social values to the community
