The Department of Science and Humanities came into existence since the inception of CIET in 2001. The department includes English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The objective of the department is to offer high quality education to students with the support of well-qualified, dedicated and highly motivated faculty members. The department has all necessary laboratory amenities for imparting knowledge to the students.
Department of Science and Humanities is especially for the First year students of all branches of Engineering & IT, being inaugurated in the year 2001. A team of well experienced, qualified and committed faculty members with a strong desire for innovative approach is in the department to instruct and motivate the students to learn. The team imparts proper guidance and motivation to the students. The department plays a pivotal role in fostering fundamental principles and science in the minds of the students. Well equipped laboratories enable the students to apply and verify the fundamentals of subjects.
The department takes special care for the lateral entry students; a special bridge course is conducted during semester holidays covering the important portions of first year syllabus before the students proceed to their second year regular classes. Students are advised to prepare themselves and look elegant. We give moral support to the students and counsel them whenever necessary. Apart from this, students are given opportunity to attend motivational classes conducted by motivational experts from outside in order to trigger the students’ potential. We pray and bless our students to do their best in studies and fetch joy and happiness to us and to their beloved parents. And it is sure our students enjoy learning in our campus.

One of the well equipped labs in the department is chemistry lab that can accommodate 30 students in a batch. This lab consists of equipments like conductivity meter, pH meter, digital potentiometer and Spectrophotometer and flame photometer to perform experiments like acid base neutralization, red-ox titrations, water analysis etc.
The Department has very good infrastructure with a a laboratory and dark room . A large number of students make use of the departmental library. This lab contains the equipments like Spectrometer, Travelling Microscope, Meter bridge, Potentiometer, Airwedge kit, Poiseulle’s flow Apparatus, Semiconducting Laser, Fibre Optics Trainer. The experiments like Electrical Resistance and thermal conductivity of metals, Wavelength of light sources, Thickness of thin wires/sheets in the order of micrometers, Viscosity of liquids, Particle size analysis, Wavelength of Laser, Numerical aperture & acceptance angle, Young’s modules of the solids are performed in the laboratory.
