The Department of Civil Engineering of Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore was established in the year 2012 with an annual intake of 60. The department has highly qualified and dedicated faculty members specialized in various areas of Civil Engineering. The vision of the department is to develop the Technical skills and knowledge of Civil Engineers to improve the infrastructure and economic welfare of the society. The Mission of the department is to provide value based education to meet the requirement of the society and to promote consultancy activities with the help of different orangnizations.
It is an immense pleasure for me to welcome you to the department of Civil Engineering. A civil engineer is a person who makes a design that works with as few original ideas as possible. It is a great profession. There is the fascination of watching a figment of the imagination emerge through the aid of science to a plan on paper. Then it moves to realization in stone or metal or energy. Then it brings jobs and homes to men. Then it elevates the standards of living and adds to the comforts of life . That is the civil engineer’s high privilege.
Laboratories are well equipped with modern facilities and specialized software. We are giving additional training to the students in the updated civil engineering software’s, so that the students can meet the future challenges in the industry and also in the society.
